From our Family to Yours

Founder Barb Wolfangel was born and raised on Wolfangel Road and is a graduate of Anderson High School. After marrying her high school sweet heart Dave Henry and spending their first two years of marriage in Hawaii, they settled down back in the Anderson area and both eventually started their own businesses. Together they have three amazing daughters and four fantastic grandchildren.

Erin Maness joined her mother in the business in 2002 after marrying her high school sweet heart that same year. She and husband Jon are the proud parents of two outstanding kiddos. She has a yard fit for a magazine cover.

Together, this mother-daughter team love working hard to help you make your home colorful and bright all year round.

Our History

In 1988, Barb took a leap of faith at her husband's urging, to leave a job she loved at UPS, to launched her own business rooted in her passion for flowers and gardening. She started a spring-seasonal-only store allowing her to also help in her husband's business, and be involved in her three children's activities. At that time, she operated in a very small back lot of the property her parents owned that for 35 years was the location of their produce business P & J Fruit Market at 7165 Beechmont Avenue. Barb is proud to follow in the footsteps of her father and grandfather as a Beechmont Avenue business owner

that was started in the mid 1940s.

Nothing gives the folks at this garden center more pleasure than to bring an inexperienced newbie into the fold and teach them the joy ones gets from being successful in their garden. There absolutely are NO STUPID QUESTIONS AT PLANTS BY WOLFANGEL, EVER!
